Finance Committee endorses FY27 budgets totaling $127.5 million at February meeting.

BEDFORD — Finance Committee endorses $127.5 million in FY27budgets. Chair Ben Thomas led the eight-member panel in unanimous approval of the $1.67 million Ambulance budget and $1.72 million Library budget, along with recommendations for the $53.7 million School budget, $25.8 million Town Operating budget, and four other departmental and non-discretionary budgets totaling $45.3 million. The committee also endorsed 16 Community Preservation Act projects for Annual Town Meeting, including a Municipal Affordable Housing Trust Fund transfer that would boost the trust balance to over $1.5 million.

Vice Chair Philip Prince noted the budget's strong position, with a projected 4.3 percent tax levy increase.
