Trails Committee planning six projects, discusses tick-safety signage.

Trails Committee · Meeting of February 10, 2026

BEDFORD — The Trails Committee approved six 2026 trail projects totaling 284 feet of construction and maintenance work across town conservation areas. Chair John Campos III presided as members reviewed planned work at Hartwell Town Forest, Harvard Pond at Huckins Farm, Carlson Conservation Area, Town Campus, York Conservation Area, and Hosmer Way. The committee heard from Board of Health member Susan Schwartz and Public Health Nurse Jackie Barmashi about new tick-safety signage with QR codes; custom signs are under development.

A trails funding request will appear on the March 23 Spring Town Meeting warrant. Recent maintenance included blowdown clearing at Shawsheen River and Buehler Pond.
