Select Board unanimously advances three engineering contracts and ratifies building commissioner.

Select Board · Meeting of July 6, 2026

Select Board unanimously advances three engineering contracts and ratifies building commissioner. Joseph Ready was confirmed as Code Enforcement Director/Inspector of Buildings at $120,000 annually after transitioning from Local Building Inspector, with Town Manager Matt Hanson citing his institutional knowledge and departmental relationships. The board approved separate contracts: $108,500 with Weston & Sampson for Springs Road Athletic Field design (July-December 2026, Community Preservation funded), and $78,800 to the same firm for asbestos remediation and permitting at 108 Carlisle Road salt shed, where the contractor discovered contamination during excavation.

A third unanimous vote approved $152,000 to Woodard & Curran for OpenGov asset management software conversion across DPW divisions. The board deferred decisions on leaf-blower regulations and a proposed Human Rights Commission until member Terrence Parker, who was absent, could participate.
