BEDFORD — Select Board unanimously votes on fuel storage and infrastructure spending. The Board granted ABRE 45 Crosby Drive LLC a special permit to store 6,904 gallons of diesel fuel for emergency generators at a biomanufacturing facility, requiring annual hazard reviews and semi-annual fire inspections. In parallel infrastructure work, the Board approved a $296,900 contract with Weston & Sampson Engineers for Page Road Pump Station preliminary design, funded through a MassWorks Infrastructure grant.
The Board also adopted FY27 utility rates: ambulance rates increase 2.5 percent; combined water and sewer rates rise 4.92 percent (adding $48 annually to a standard residential bill); and DPW permit fees increase effective July 1. In budget actions, the Board authorized a $250,000 transfer from the Special Education Reserve Fund and approved $585,000 in year-end budget transfers, with $415,000 covering snow and ice removal costs from an unusually heavy winter.
