Select Board approves design and construction contracts for Town Common and Great Road projects

BEDFORD — Select Board approves $477,000 in design and construction contracts for Town Common and Great Road projects. The board unanimously backed BETA Group Inc's $92,600 final design contract for Town Common walkway improvements using exposed aggregate concrete and pavers in high-impact locations, and approved Green International Affiliates' $384,324 construction administration contract for the Great Road stormwater and traffic project supporting the fire station relocation from 55 Great Road to 139 Great Road, with construction anticipated to begin this spring and complete by November 2026. The Board also appointed Stuart Trout to the Hanscom Area Towns Committee for a three-year term and Armen Zildjian to the Patriotic Holiday Committee for two years, while postponing Steven Wightman's Taxation Aid Committee appointment.
The Select Board unanimously opened the 2026 Annual Town Meeting warrant containing 21 articles spanning appropriations, capital projects, bylaw amendments, and charter amendments, with town meeting scheduled for March 23, 2026.
