Select Board approves $710,000 pavilion contract, Eversource conduit work.

Select Board · Meeting of May 11, 2026

Bedford Select Board unanimously approves $710,000 multipurpose pavilion construction contract. New England Builders and Contractors, Inc. won the bid; construction begins this summer with substantial completion targeted for August 31, 2026. The Board also unanimously granted Eversource Energy a location permit to install 15 feet of underground electrical conduit on South Road, addressing a previous unauthorized installation.

Funding for the pavilion comes from 2025 and 2024 town meeting appropriations, revolving funds, and department operating budgets. The Board appointed Phil Kallis as an alternate to the Historic District Commission and removed Council on Aging member Lewis Putney for failure to attend four consecutive meetings.
