Select Board · Meeting of September 14, 2026

Bedford Select Board approved $107,732 for a Hemlock Lane intersection traffic-calming project. The Board unanimously backed a contract change order with C. Naughton Corp to narrow pavement at the Burlington Road and Hemlock Lane intersection and add a flush splitter island aimed at slowing traffic and reducing pedestrian crossing distances on a street with documented speeding and cut-through traffic issues.

The work caps a three-year traffic-calming effort that earlier included rubber speed cushions and speed-feedback signs. In a related decision, the Board unanimously voted not to call a Special Town Meeting for fall 2026, consolidating proposed warrant articles into the March 2027 Annual Town Meeting.
