Recreation Commission · Meeting of July 22, 2026
Recreation Commission approves higher admin fees as 450 new families strain capacity. Chair Robin Steele and members Ronald Richter and Leah Devereaux voted unanimously 3-0 to raise program administration fees from 15 to 22 percent, effective fall, citing rising staff and inclusion costs; program fees remain below comparable towns and financial aid ($25,000 to $30,000 annually) continues. The Commission also voted 3-0 to allocate $12,000 for Lane School basketball hoop replacements.
Staff warned of approaching capacity limits across Kids' Club, Summer Adventures, soccer, and athletics as 450 families prepare to move to town.
