BEDFORD — Hanscom Field panel reviews noise spike, capital work, deportation concerns. The Hanscom Field Advisory Commission unanimously approved prior minutes on April 21 and reviewed March 2026 noise data showing daytime operations up 17.5 percent and night operations up 16.6 percent compared with March 2025. Hanscom Field recorded a 300 thousand dollar operating surplus for Fiscal Year 2025, though summer FIFA traffic and broader jet-operation increases are anticipated.
Commission members Terri Ackerman and Terrence Parker reported on recent legal discussions with Massport regarding passenger screening and deportation flights; Ackerman and Barbara Katzenberg volunteered to draft a letter to Governor Maura Healey supporting the commission's four priorities, including compliance with applicable laws, passenger safety, liability minimization, and community responsiveness.
