Bedford Finance Committee approved a major software migration despite budget concerns. Town Manager Matt Hanson requested an $82,337.91 reserve fund transfer to migrate permitting software from PermitEyes to OpenGov; the committee voted unanimously. The new system costs approximately $18,000 more annually but avoids overlapping costs during transition.
The committee also discussed fiscal 2027 budget guidelines, concerned that non-discretionary costs grow at 7 percent against available revenue growth of 3 percent. Finance Committee members Philip Prince and Mark Bailey backed a 2 percent guideline; Allen Jimerson favored 2.5 percent; the vote was deferred.
