Council on Aging secures $30K budget restoration

BEDFORD — Council on Aging secures $30,000 budget restoration after Town Meeting intervention. Chair Paul Fath said the restored funding, which came after former member Rick Rosen raised a procedural hold on the COA budget item during Town Meeting, allows for new program spending, newsletter postage increases, and flexible seasonal staffing for the first time. The board appointed a nominating committee to select new officers for elections in June.
Director Alison Cservenschi declined a MassDOT grant for an ADA-accessible vehicle due to the town's inability to provide the required $13,000 local match.
