BEDFORD — Committee plans to prepare a presentation on municipal microgrids for the Select Board. The Energy and Sustainability Committee voted unanimously to send a congratulatory letter regarding Bedford's Green Ribbon Schools Award and tasked Chair Patricia Fabian and member Emily Prince with developing the microgrid tutorial. The committee heard from the Heat Smart Alliance about residential heat pump coaching opportunities and discussed zoning changes with Planning Director Tony Fields related to battery storage, data centers, and geothermal systems.
The town's Community Choice Aggregation program enrolled 3,936 customers as of April 30, with 3,220 choosing the 100 percent renewable energy option.
