Bedford Library Calls for Pumpkin Patch Volunteers Ahead of Fall Fundraiser

BEDFORD — Bedford Free Public Library is recruiting volunteers to help unload its annual Pumpkin Patch fundraiser this fall, and the library has also set an early-closing date next month for the town's Beats & Eats event.

The library's semitruck full of pumpkins returns to the Pumpkin Patch on October 5 at 2 p.m. and again on October 12 at 11 a.m., with unloading expected to take several hours. The library is asking residents to sign up to help, and volunteers who commit by September 1 will receive a free t-shirt.

Separately, the library announced it will close early, at 2 p.m., on Saturday, September 5, so staff can take part in Beats & Eats, a town event.

COMING UP

Bedford's civic calendar is active this week. The Board of Registrars meets Monday, August 24, the same day the Recreation Department opens fall program registration. The Planning Board holds its regular meeting Tuesday, August 25, and the Zoning Board of Appeals meets Thursday, August 27.
