Bedford Closes Fawn Lake, Preps Town Common Biergarten
BEDFORD — Fawn Lake shut down to the public this week as the town carries out a temporary closure, even as the Select Board and Town Manager's Office get ready to welcome residents to the Town Common for the Bedford Summer Biergarten.
TOWN HALL Fawn Lake is closed to public access from Tuesday, July 14, through Friday, July 17, according to a town alert. The lake is set to reopen to residents on Saturday, July 18.
The Select Board and Town Manager's Office are inviting the community to the Town Common for the Bedford Summer Biergarten, billed as an afternoon of music, beer, food "and good times," the town said in a News Flash post.
Separately, the Narrow Gauge Rail Trail is temporarily closed at the Billerica town line as Billerica breaks ground on a two-year project to build its Yankee Doodle Bike Path starting from the Bedford line, according to the town. Bedford staff and the Metropolitan Area Planning Council are also inviting residents to a virtual public forum on the future use of 55 The Great Road, the town's existing fire station, which the town plans to hold later this month.
COMING UP The Taxation Aid Committee meets Monday, July 20. The Hanscom Field Advisory Commission convenes Tuesday, July 21.
